The use of mobile holographic computing devices, such as Microsoft’s HoloLens, is poised to make an impact in the world of automation, particularly in manufacturing, industrial, and smart energy applications. Users can engage with digital content and interact with holographic representations of equipment, or “digital twins” to gain clear insight into any application. Trigger the application by using a variety of location services, such as GPS, NFC, QR codes, and more. This session will feature a demo of ICONICS state-of-the-art, engaging 3D holographic machine interface technology with HoloLens and other innovative wearable devices. Witness how the use of augmented and mixed reality adds another dimension to any application by truly making the invisible visible.
 
Running applications via cloud-based services such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS), allows for increased mobility and scalability. In this session, you will learn how to create visually stunning dashboards that can be accessed via a wide array of devices including PCs, tablets, phones, and more. The session will show you concepts such as responsive design and how to access and display connected data clearly and efficiently for multiple applications and industries.
 
The latest ICONICS GENESIS64™ technology complies with the ISA 18.2 alarm management specification. Attendees will be able to learn about the use of Latch, Shelved, Suppressed by Design, Out of Service, Re-Alarming, Auto Ack and Clear features. New capabilities including advanced roll-up within asset navigation, BACnet alarming, and Workflow-related alarms will also be covered. The discussion will include topics from ICONICS’ standard support of OPC Unified Architecture (OPC UA) and Alarm and Events (OPC AE) to future plans for Alarm Analytics™ involving cloud-based analytics, third-party alarm support and integration with Engineering Equipment and Materials Users Association (EEMUA) algorithms.
 
ICONICS has created time-saving tools that help users to more quickly configure their automated systems, including auto-configuration and bulk asset configuration features. These tools help save engineering time, reduce related costs and improve overall delivery time. For ICONICS partners, such streamlined efficiency allows for the ability to take on more projects per year, leading to more potential for profit. This session will provide demonstrations of ICONICS auto-configuration tools, along with suggested best practices to further reduce project engineering costs.                                     
 
IoT “edge” devices, combined with embedded automation software such as ICONICS IoTWorX, provide the cloud-enabled platform to create energy smart buildings solutions. These solutions scale from a single piece of equipment or building to an entire city or real estate portfolio. ICONICS uses the connectivity of the Internet of Things to monitor, control, and analyze space utilization and energy use, thereby reducing energy costs and optimizing efficiency. This session will feature examples of projects showing the Building Internet of Things, smart buildings, measured energy, and cost reduction. KPIWorX™ is a self-service dashboarding tool that allows for the creation, saving, and loading of dashboards via a user-friendly interface. Preconfigured widgets provide in-depth analysis and insightful data intelligence on any device. Used together, these disruptive technology tools offer insight into an organization’s big data. This session provides a demonstration of how these tools work in perfect harmony to address a variety of manufacturing, industrial and building automation use cases.
 
ICONICS Facility AnalytiX® collects a wide array of building equipment process data for fault detection and diagnostics (FDD). This includes data from HVAC and direct digital control (DDC) systems that directly impact occupants’ comfort. This session will focus on how energy and facility data analysis can lead to keeping temperature and airflow at optimum levels while improving efficiency and reducing energy costs. 
           
ICONICS IoTWorX™ end-to-end software solution supports multiple industry standard communication protocols. Due to its long history with the OPC Foundation, ICONICS made sure that IoTWorX integrates with OPC UA to enable a standard model for bridging the plant floor to the enterprise. In addition, ICONICS adopted one of the OPC Foundation’s recommended messaging protocols, Advanced Message Queuing Protocol (AMQP), due to its efficient design and optimization of messaging between devices. This session covers how advancements in OPC UA information models and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) can be applied within manufacturing, industrial and building automation applications to truly leverage the benefits of Industry 4.0.

This session highlights some exciting innovations in big data analytics using hot, warm, and cold data storage solutions with ICONICS Hyper Historian™. When real-time “hot” data is collected at the edge by IoT devices, it can then be transmitted to “warm” data historians for mid-term archiving and replay.
