Business Development Manager

ICONICS seeks an experienced sales professional to lead business development and partner activities in their assigned region.  The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for meeting Sales Goals for the Region and for developing and managing sales relationships with end users and partners across the Region.  The BDM will develop a network of directly-managed and leveraged sales channels to serve targeted industry market segments. They will be responsible for maintaining and growing sales in ICONICS’ key markets, including:  Manufacturing, Building Automation, Automotive, Water Treatment, Electric Power and Utilities. The BDM will work with ICONICS HQ to develop business and marketing plans to sell ICONICS product licenses, subscriptions, SaaS, support, training and professional services for its HMI, SCADA, Visualization, Historian, AnalytiX® and IoT products. The BDM will prepare and deliver sales presentations, attend trade shows and seminars, empower ICONICS sales channels through training and team selling, provide project management oversight, forecast revenue, and track leads and opportunities.  The BDM is to develop brand preference within major corporate accounts, engineering, governmental and consulting firms.

Ideally, the position is based in the field, preferably in a major metropolitan city, and will report into ICONICS’ VP Worldwide Sales at our HQ in Foxborough, MA, USA.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Strong competency in Industrial Automation or Energy Smart Buildings applications.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering or IT.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to draft customer proposals, contracts, business correspondence, and PowerPoint presentations with clear messaging to and through sales channels.
  • A self-starter with demonstrated ability to achieve sales objectives.
  • Strong competency in selling software or technical services.
  • Requires 50% travel to customers and prospects within the Region plus 2 to 4 trips per year to ICONICS offices outside of the Region, including ICONICS’ Headquarters in USA. Initial training period may require up to 6 weeks out of the region.

Preferred Candidate Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 - 8 years experience selling software products with demonstrated success of solution selling at senior levels of operations management and/or information technology departments.
  • A track record of exceeding sales objectives within industrial or building automation system markets, energy services or industrial IT systems.  
  • A background in SCADA, DCS, industrial automation, process control, industrial communications, manufacturing analytics, statistical process control, data historians, energy management systems, building automation systems, industrial communications technologies, or software for Business Intelligence (BI), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), or Enterprise Asset Management (EAM).
