An introduction to GraphWorX64, the primary graphical design environment in the ICONICS Suite. This covers how to build displays in the environment, and key aspects of the environment that are best to know early on in the process to save you time later.

Getting Started

Introduces how to launch the GraphWorX64 Editor, the tool you will use to create powerful, animated dashboards. This video overviews the general functions of the tabs on the ribbon, used to access the tools available for creating 2D and 3D graphics. Also explained is the difference between configuration and runtime mode.

Getting Familiar with the Configuration Environment

A brief familiarization on the workspace, including the ribbon, Object Explorer, Property tab, and Symbol Library.

Adding Simple Elements to your Display

When adding controls, process symbols, or other elements to your display, learn how they are being maintained in the object explorer. Also learn how to view properties of every object.

Using Dynamics to Animate Displays

Dynamics are the primary means of adding live data animation and user interactivity to build real-time dashboards. These dynamics are native features of the configuration environment designed to replace any need for scripting.

Process Points and Data Entry Fields

Process Data Point and Data Entry are text objects useful for reading or writing any data points coming into the ICONICS systems. They provide direct access to real-time data from OPC, OPC-UA, Modbus, BACnet, or any other protocol supported by ICONICS.

Size, Location, and Rotation Dynamics

Dimensional dynamics create meaningful data representations by animating the shape in real-time to values being returned from a specified real-time data source. This video covered the Size, Location, and Rotation Dynamics.

Color, Disable, and Hide Dynamics

Color dynamics create meaningful data representations by animating the states of the shape in response to values being returned from a specified data acquisition sources; the states include different color, visibility, and accessibility.

Controlling General Display Settings

Runtime mode is an environment that populates the GraphWorX64 display objects in memory, draws them on screen, and updates them with data in accordance with the properties set in Configuration mode. This video discusses the configuration of Runtime settings.

How Displays are Built and Stored

This video covers different file extensions of which GraphWorX64 dashboards or templates can be as, such as compressed files or for use with HTML5 publication.

Buttons and Pick Action Commands

Buttons are shapes that can have actions associated with click events, mouse overs, and other actions. GraphWorX64 provides four predefined button types: Normal Button, Checkbox, Radio Button, and Display Button which can be used depending on the circumstance. Buttons can be used to implement simple HMI panel functions, or as selections in complex dashboards and forms.
