About Odense University Hospital

Odense University Hospital (OUH) operates four academic and community hospitals in the eastern part of the Region of Southern Denmark, including the Svendborg Hospital, which also has a sizeable medical department.

OUH is one of the Region’s most important education and training venues with research, development, and education being integral aspects of its function as a university hospital. OUH closely collaborates with the University of Southern Denmark including extensive research activity and annual training of approximately 2,500 people as part of basic or continuing education.

The old buildings on the Svendborg campus had disparate and outdated automation systems. The hospital wanted to centralize all building systems into a unified platform to simplify daily operations and improve monitoring and control.

The monitoring and control of most Svendborg Hospital buildings are now centralized into a single system at one location. This setup provides the hygienic, temperature-controlled environments essential for patient wellbeing and recovery. Key benefits include:

  • Streamlined nighttime operations: Alarms from OUH Svendborg Sygehus are now transferred to Odense University Hospital, eliminating the need for overnight staff at the Svendborg location. Reception personnel monitor alarms instead.
